TC4 is widely used. Al is an element that improves the stability of the a phase, while V is an element that improves the stability of the phase. After adding aluminum to pure titanium, aluminum has sufficient solubility in al-Ti. Aluminum is widely distributed in nature, easy to obtain, and relatively cheap. Aluminum is much lighter than titanium, and the addition of aluminum to titanium reduces the density and increases the specific strength. More importantly, aluminum can be effectively solution strengthened while the alloy remains sufficiently ductile. Aluminum can effectively strengthen the a-phase not only at room temperature but also at high temperature, and improve the thermal strength and working temperature of titanium alloys. TC4 with 6 percent aluminum can work at 400 degree for a long time and maintain high strength. But only the titanium-aluminum alloy (Ti-4AI) containing aluminum will become brittle after long-term heating at 550 degree . Therefore, adding an appropriate amount of type-stabilizing element X to the titanium-aluminum alloy will hinder the formation of brittleness, and contain a certain amount of a phase, which improves the hot workability of the alloy, improves the plasticity of the alloy, and can also be processed by heat treatment (such as Solid solution plus aging further increases the strength). The texture of TC4 after deformation and annealing is the coexistence of a plus two-phase. The content of -phase in TC4 is less, accounting for about 10 percent . The total mechanical properties of TC4 alloy are good after being kept at 750~800 degree for 1-2h and then air-cooled (recrystallization annealed). At this time, the structure of the alloy is equiaxed a plus phase.
